Sasanqua ～ サザンカ

今日はサザンカを刺繍しました。Today's embroidery is Sasanqua.

ツバキ科ツバキ属

Theaceae Camellia

葉：鋸歯がある楕円形で、やや厚くツヤがあって互生します。

Leaf: Elliptical, has saw teeth, rather thick and shiny, and it alternates

種子：油が採れる

Seed: Essential oils can be retrieved

花：5枚の花弁、野生の自生種では花色は部分的に淡い桃色を交えた白色、植栽される園芸品種の花の色は、赤色や白色やピンクなど様々である。花弁が1枚ごとに散るので、ツバキとは区別がつく

Flower: Has five petals. Wild sasanqua flower is white partly pink, and garden variety is red, white pink, and so on. To distinguish with camellia, sasanqua petals fall one by one.
