ダリア 

花姿がボタンに似ているため天竺牡丹（テンジクボタン）と名づけられています。夏から秋にかけて開花し、大きな花輪と色鮮やかな花色と咲き方が特徴です。食用ダリアも栽培されており、日本でも塊根を金平などにしてレンコンなどに似た食感を味わったり、花や葉をサラダや酢の物などの飾りとして食することもできます。また、染料を使った特産品も知られています。花言葉は「移り気」

Dahlia

It is called "tenjikubotan" in Japanese because the flower resembles a button. It starts to bloom from summer to autumn with features of large garlands, bright colors and bloom.  There are edible dahlias produced in Japan and you can enjoy the texture similar to lotus root  by using a tube root as “Kinpira”.
