葉は濃緑色で線形をし、先端は尖っていますが柔らかい。初秋に赤い実をつけ、染料や食用に使用されます。有毒が含まれているので注意が必要です。花言葉は「悲しみ」

Japanese yew

The dark green and linear leaves have the pointed tips and they are soft. Red fruits bloom in early autumn and are used for dyes and food. Must be handled with care as it contains toxic substances. The flower message is "sorrow".
