2020.05.03 Sunday～アーティチョーク Artichoke

Good morning! Today is May 03, 2020, it is going to be sunny and rainy day here in Nagoya, Japan. The hot sunny days continued for quite a while so I really appreciate the rain.

アーティチョーク

開花前の蕾を収穫し、萼のつけ根と花托（かたく）を食べます。ホクホクとしたジャガイモのような風味が特徴です。紫色のブラシのような花姿も特徴的ですね。

Artichoke

The base of the calyx and the receptacle of the buds which are harvested before the flowering are edible, It has a potato like texture. The purple brush-like flower are also characteristic.
