今日はレモンバーベナの刺繍です。

レモンバーベナとは。。

●レモンよりレモンの香りがするハーブ

　Lemon verbena has more lemon scent than a lemon

●細長く先がとがっている葉はレモンの香りがする

●クマツヅラ科イワダレソウ属

　Verbenaceae Phyla

●和名：コウスイボク

　Japanese name: Kousuiboku

●学名：Lippia citriodora

　Scientific name: Lippia citriodora

●原産地：南アフリカ

　Native to South Africa

●多年草、落葉低木

　Perennial, deciduous shrub

●花言葉：優しい心

　Language of flower: kind heart

●主な効能：消化促進、鎮静作用、リフレッシュ効果

　Efficacy: Help digestion, soothing effect, refreshing effect

●植え方・増やし方：挿し木

　How to grow and propagate: cutting

●主な用途：ハーブティー、料理の風味付け、ポプリ、サシェ、ハーブバス、煎じ汁を含ませたタオルを目に当てると目の腫れを抑える。エッセンシャルオイルや煎じ汁をお風呂に入れると爽快で、吐き気があるときにも効果的。エッセンシャルオイルは肌を柔らかくする作用がある。

　Usage: herb tea, flavoring for dishes, potpourri, sachet, herbal bath, soak the towel in decoction and put it over the eyes would reduce swelling. Essential oil or decoction in the bath would make you feel refreshing, and it also relieve nausea. The essential oil also works to soften the skin.

●性質：耐寒性が弱い。室内で越冬させる。ハーブティーは長期に渡って服用すると胃を荒らす場合あり。

　Character: Not cold resistant, overwinter inside. Taking herbal tea for a long period of time may damage the stomach.

●適した場所：日当たりと排水の良い乾燥気味の場所

　Suited growing place: Well sunlight, good water drainage, and rather dry area.

●収穫：6月～10月。開花期が葉の香りが一番良い。持ちがいいので乾燥して保存。

　June to October. Harvest: Leaves have the greatest scent when flowers bloom and it last long. Dry and store them.
